This course is for those who use and maintain hydraulic nozzle type knapsack sprayers. During the course candidates will understand the requirements of current legislation, how to apply pesticides safely and effectively using their equipment as well as the correct storage and maintenance of equipment, calibrate and prepare their machine, use good codes of practice, mix pesticides correctly, choosing the correct nozzles and also learn how to dispose of chemicals safely whilst rectifying faults.

Health and Safety, Accident prevention, daily safety checks. Instruments and control functions. Starting and stopping. Driving the machine using basic manoeuvres, and on varying terrain.

Safe loading. Route planning - risk assessment. Practical exercises
